The Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque and the Auschwitz Committee Luxembourg are honored to invite you, as part of the Literary Tuesdays, to the presentation of the book "Les femmes d’Auschwitz-Birkenau" by Mrs. Chochana Boukhobza.

Chochana Boukhobza, a writer and documentary filmmaker on the Holocaust, spent seven years investigating the deportation and experiences of women at Auschwitz-Birkenau. She reconstructs the specific organization of Birkenau and brings to life the prisoners from all over occupied Europe, mainly Jewish, but also Catholic, Protestant, agnostic, and Romani. Some were arrested for acts of resistance, but most did not know what awaited them. Subjected to relentless forced labor, they showed courage, audacity, and heroism. Her account is a hymn to solidarity and freedom. The book was published in 2024 by Flammarion. The author is also the recipient of the 2025 Odette and Léon Chertok Prize. This event is part of the commemoration of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp 80 years ago and the Yom HaShoah Memorial Day on April 23, 2025. With the support of the Auschwitz Committee Luxembourg and MemoShoah.

Moderation: Marc Schoentgen, President of the Auschwitz Committee Luxembourg, and in the presence of Mr. Henri Juda, son of an Auschwitz-Birkenau survivor.
