Children’s reading workshop held as part of the exhibition “ΙΣΤΟΣ / WEB – Contemporary Artists’ Books”
For a very long time, books have told stories with words and pictures. But some artists had a playful and curious idea: what if the book itself became a work of art? A book to look at, touch, sometimes even listen to or walk through!
In the exhibition ΙΣΤΟΣ / WEB – Contemporary Artists' Books, artists ask themselves: what purpose does a book still serve today, when we spend so much time looking on screens? Can it still surprise us? Can it make us dream in new ways?
Here, the entire building is transformed into a giant magical book. It features drawings, videos, sculptures, photographs, and even digital works. Sometimes words become images, and sometimes images tell stories without words.
Artists from Luxembourg and Greece have created these works, and real artist’s books from the National Library are also on display to show us that books can take a thousand forms.
This exhibition invites children (and adults!) to open their eyes and imaginations wide and discover that reading is not just about turning pages... it's also about going on an adventure!
A guided tour of the exhibition by one of the Cercle Cité guides will be offered from 10 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. in the Ratskeller exhibition space and will be followed by a reading from 10:20 a.m. to 11 a.m. given by the Tuffi team.
Activity for children aged 6 to 10. Accompanying parents do not need to register.
