With its CeCiL’s Box project, Cercle Cité welcomes creations in one of its windows on rue du Curé. This project aims to present varied and original interventions to the public, and is also a way to support local creation by offering visibility to guest artists. These interventions are visible 7 days a week, day and night.
With DAUGHTER, Flora Mar offers to transpose a complicated subject originating from her recurrent artistic research on the patterns of human behavior right on the streets, during the Christmas period. The installation follows a narrative over time, presented in 3 consecutive scenes where DAUGHTER becomes the target of the onlooker’s projections. Snatched from its usual living context – the “Gare” neighbourhood – DAUGHTER, solitary and on display, surrenders its moods and accommodates itself to everyone’s glances and interpretations. Flora Mar’s 3-part installation unveils a mistreated love story with minimalism, finesse and strength; it is an absurd tale which is unfortunately without issue.
