Visceral rack
With the CeCiL's Box, the Cercle Cité supports local creation by presenting and promoting the work of emerging and young artists from the Greater Region in one of its shop windows in the Rue du Curé. This mini exhibition space, visible 7 days a week, day and night, offers a street-side location in the heart of the city to a series of original and ephemeral interventions from the plastic and applied arts, with the aim of arousing the curiosity of passers-by and questioning the collective imagination.
The 28th intervention, entrusted to artist Hisae Ikenaga, is entitled Visceral rack.
This specific piece for CeCiL's Box derives from other previous pieces and installations that contain similar elements: furniture and steel trays with glass jars, laboratory tools, kitchen tools, surgery room tools, ceramist tools, etc. The ceramic pieces simulate organic things, from food to viscera. In this piece the chaos and the piling up of the elements is very evident.
There seems to be no order, it is impossible to think that there is a study or a follow-up or research, everything overflows, giving a feeling of lack of control and abandonment.
We invite you to meet-up with the artist in front of the CeCiL's Box on Thursday May 11 at 12 p.m.
