With its CeCiL’s Box project, Cercle Cité welcomes creations in one of its windows on rue du Curé. This project aims to present varied and original interventions to the public, and is also a way to support local creation by offering visibility to guest artists. These interventions are visible 7 days a week, day and night.
The 10th CeCiL's Box intervention has been given to artist duo Mik Muhlen et Iyoshi Kreutz with their installation VEILS.
VEILS introduces itself as a reflection on spirituality and, more specifically, on our loss of curiosity towards the unknown and the mystical. Far from its natural instincts, humankind has lost its confidence in its environment and has confined itself in an amorphous well-being. This installation is a call to abandon our deceptive zone of comfort by diving on the other side of the veil which, draped over a mirror, unveils an obscure portal to unknown spheres. If he prevails upon his fears, prejudices and preconceived ideas, he will gain access to occult knowledge he wouldn’t have come upon if he had chosen to remain comforted in his ignorance. VEILS invites the onlooker to open himself to the unexplored, however described, to reach a new reality and the concept that there is not one only truth, but that they are manifold.
