Tout va bien !
With its CeCiL’s Box project, Cercle Cité welcomes creations in one of its windows on rue du Curé. This project aims to present varied and original interventions to the public, and is also a way to support local creation by offering visibility to guest artists. These interventions are visible 7 days a week, day and night.
The 26th intervention, entrusted to illustrator Jennifer Lyszyszack aka Oh Mamie !, is entitled " Tout va bien ! " (Everything is fine).
When was the last time you answered "everything's fine" to someone? Did you really believe it?
What if this strange, disturbing sensation of suffocating, drowning, were lurking in this colourful little space where everything seems to be flowing, harmonious and intense… Everything's fine reveals this disturbance that smothers us silently as we do our best to conceal it behind a smile
The artist uses the jellyfish, an ambiguous animal, both fascinating and frightening, to present us with a magnified vision of her anxiety. Its tentacular and metaphorical details are etched in ink on the strong tone of the paper. Line after line, point after point, outline after outline, after the fashion of a safety valve, Oh Mamie ! gives shape to these elegant silent creatures.
The world of Everything's fine was born out of this dominant bluish tint, consisting of suspended serrations highlighted by an interplay of superimposition and discreet lighting.
Oh Mamie !, whose real name is Jennifer Lyszyszack, was born in Metz in 1991. Equipped with a certificate in visual communication acquired from LISAA Strasbourg, " Oh Mamie ! " made her first appearance in 2013. Working initially in graphics and illustration, she discovered the joys of serigraphy in 2015. Her world is characterised by quirky, often dark or humoristic lines full of detail, like her graphical productions.
