Fashion Book Club

After completing a fashion master's from Polimoda in Florence, Italy, Sarvenaz came back to Luxembourg, working as an expert externe at Lënster Lycée International School and has given fashion talks at Musée d’histoire national et d’art, Casino Luxembourg as well as The University of Luxembourg.

In June 2023, she started a Fashion Book Club, offering a platform to gather and exchange opinions on the evolution of the trade and craft. Starting in January 2024, the Cercle Cité will host the club's meetings!

In this book, we get to know the unforgettable character Gia, the model from the late 1970s. She graced the covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan at a young age and redefined the industry's standard of beauty until unfortunately drugs got to her, and she became an addict. With a tragic downward spiral, she eventually was blackballed from the fashion industry and entered a vastly different world on the streets of New York and Atlantic City. She went to rehab, but the urges returned and she succumbed to AIDS at the age of twenty-six.
