The Tower of Babel is a divine punishment in the Bible. Civilisations have multiplied their efforts at translation, transmission and adaptation to overcome the inevitable confusion of idioms. But today, the strength of culture is no longer enough to prevent the edifice from collapsing. Should we leave it to technology alone to bring us together, or is there a specific vocation for initiation to reconstitute the lost unity?
