The paintingYoung Neapolitans by the painter Guillaume Bodinier, dating from 1835, and fits in very well with his numerous portrait studies he painted in Italy. In this lecture, Prof. Dr. Christina Threuter analyses the significance of certain objects in the painting and puts them in the context of similar contemporary representations of women. Can the objects in the painting tell us anything about the interpersonal relationship of the two illustrated women?
