The main hall of the Cercle Cité will host the art project "Unveiled Resilience - A journey through Iran's women's movements", conceived by the Iranian photographer Sobhan Naderi in collaboration with the City of Luxembourg and the Cercle Cité.

The artist takes the visitors back in time, through a film projection, to the recent movements against the Islamic regime in Iran, with a particular focus on the courageous women who played a central role in the protests that began in September 2022, after the tragic death of Mahsa Amini. In many towns and villages across the country, Iranian women demanded their basic rights and faced bloody repression in which hundreds were killed. Thought-provoking, the film leads visitors to explore the pivotal role of women in Iranian society, from ancient times within the Persian Empire to the present day.

Visitors will be filmed during the screening and, if they wish, will be able to talk to the artist afterwards to share their feelings about this human tragedy and answer a few questions. Through this, the artist aims to capture the public's perception of this critical situation and incorporate the testimonies into his final project.
