This year, the Cercle Cité continues its series of screenings of short films and artists' films, which will address different aspects of inclusion, accessibility, integration and discrimination in a philosophical and original way.

These topics are highly debatable in a society that on the one hand is becoming more and more aware of the subject of identity and diversity, but which nevertheless faces difficulties in adapting to this new awareness. Migration and feminism, the search for (artistic) identity, the rights of people with special needs, the rights of people belonging to the LGBTQIA+ group and the challenges of parenthood: the themes linked to these debates are multifaceted and affect many of us.

Should we all be feminists? looks at different women’s cultural, social, religious and political perspectives on role models and modern feminism in Berlin.

The documentary is based on contrasting perspectives of women who talk about kindness, respect, empowerment, and equality in their personal lives. The main goal was to dig deep and find the right balance between sorrow and happiness, while respectfully capturing each story through intimate cinematography.

Should we all be feminists? is a shocking, moving and admirable glimpse into each protagonist's lived reality.

Silke Meya and Laura Mentgen’s cinematographic focus lies on underrepresented groups of people who are discriminated against due to their origin, gender, religion or identity. People with physical and/or mental disabilities are at the centre of their work.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the directors, moderated by Claire Schadeck from CID Fraen an Gender.
